Entertainment Software Association (ESA) has published a research paper Essential Facts About the Computer and Video Game Industry.
Another useful research paper I recently saw: UK Games Research. The research was made by BBC.
Check them out. They provide interesting information about sales, demographics and usage data for the year 2005.

Good reading! It mostly confirms what I have seen from other surveys but always nice to see new numbers.

Sorry to be commenting on an old post but there are some really good in-line spell checkers for both Firefox and for WordPress. ;)
