This is actually ironic... A blog stating that you shouldn't read blogs.

Hi JJ, perhaps you should get rid of gamasutra, next-gen.biz and others instead? ;)

I've actually been testing to write twice per day in this month (as you can see from the archives) - I thought to experiment how it would go. So far it looks like it has no much impact on the traffic, so I might as drop the 2-posts-per-day experiment. I'm bit hesitant to post only 1-2 times per week since I enjoy writing and have lots of post ideas on my "idea list". If 1-post per day starts to feel like work, I will stop doing that for sure.

It would be nice to hear what posts have you enjoyed lately. Perhaps by pointing out some examples I can see more clearly what you consider value, and what has been noise to you.

Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate this.

Hi Juuso,

This comment is not particulary about this post, but the whole blog instead. Though, I guess this post was the last drop to fill the glass. :-)

I do find this blog usefull sometimes, but the noise ratio is kind of high. I feel that you made wrong obligations for yourself to push a post each day no matter what. While it probably seems a great idea, it actually makes your posts of little value, and each day I find I just tend to go through them with "delete" key. Especially when you post about same things you posted earlier (like now). And lately I've even been thinking about unsubscribing. :-( Keep in mind that people in gamedev are already reading a lot of industry releated sites, and their inboxes are overfilled with news from sites like gamasutra, next-gen.biz and others. Especially when you're busy, and can't go through them for several days.

I hope you'll listen to this advice, and start posting more rarely (like 1 or 2 times a week), but with much higher quality, and value for takeaway. I think readers appreciate quality instead of quantity, at least I do...

Maybe you should make a reader poll...

-Not feeling like it is never a good excuse. You

Agreed, but we all have days like this, me included. If I find myself not wanting to work on my game I atleast try to keep myself focused some what on my game - research, planning, review, and yes sometimes blog. :( / :)

Not feeling like it is never a good excuse. You can do things you don't feel like doing. If your paper is due tomorrow (or in a couple of hours!), you'll do the paper. If you have work to do, you can convince yourself to do it even if you would rather be outside running around in the sun.

How you feel is important, but it shouldn't control your life.
