Sargon: sure, you can have smaller files. This merely means that some years ago, the "20 meg limitation" was kind of like a standard. Nowadays, you can put bigger files (with more content) and people still seems to download them.

Why? what does it matter that the file size got bigger? I am sure you can always put a demo with a smaller file size.

Wow, the filesizes are getting pretty big. I hope they don't make that a standard anytime soon.

My last game we tried to keep to 50Mb as it was a card game. My new game may be even less. I think that customers downloading an adventure game are prepared for a larger file due to extra content and so for the new Ravenhearst the bigger size is OK but customers probably wouldn't like it as much for a match-3 or a time management or strategy etc.

What's interesting is that the 1 hour demo is 90Mb and that when you buy it a 290Mb download is initiated. I don't know if this is a new technique for BFG but it's a good idea because 90Mb isn't too bad as a download and by the time they are hooked, they will be more likely to make the 290Mb download.

Hidden Expedition Amazon and Azada 2 were already over 100 MB and were obviously giga-sellers. I don't think we need to worry about such things anymore.
