Selling items that makes you slightly more powerful or give you more experience are old news in Rappelz (2006) and Gunbound (2002).

Also there are games which cap non subscribers, like Tibia (1997).

All of them been successful.</description>

		<description>I&#039;ve really wrestled with the concept of microtransactions - there are just so many problems that can come up. Is what you buy temporary or permanent? What happens if the company goes out of business? How do you make the gameplay balanced for everyone?

That said, many of the games I&#039;ve spent a lot of time with recently are powered by microtransactions. No matter what my objections are, they seem to be winning. DLC - growing more and more popular - is *almost* the same thing, isn&#039;t it?</description>
