This Is Why I Love Writing My Blog

I can’t but imagine how witty and talented people there are out there (I’m most likely talking about you). Every now and then these individuals really make me smile.

Couple of days ago I wrote a blog post about how to more than double your productivity with just 3 mouse clicks. There I explained that you’d need to close three applications and do some actual work.

Now, Mr. dVyper commented and kindly reminded that:

“There’s no way you’d be able to do those 3 things in 3 clicks…One click would be used to focus the app and then more to close it…unless you use keyboard shortcuts too…”

That’s technically speaking so bloody true.

I just love to see comments like that. Good thing you guys keep your eyes open and don’t believe everything that’s being said by some random blogger.

  1. What if the windows are layered on top of oneanother.

    Or as Roman said: Opera.
    It Rules, ‘Nuff Said!

  2. If you use Opera you can close web browser, email program, rss reader and messenger with just one click. Opera rules :)

  3. Or you could just hit alt F4 and close your web browsers without even using a click. That leaves an extra click either for your email (assuming your email isn’t web browser based) or your instant messengers.

  4. Actually if you can see the Xs in the top corner of each window you can close them with a single click. This is easier if they are spread out over multiple screens. You would only need to use more clicks for Internet and Email if the windows were buried under something.

  5. That reminds me, a good programmed application is first written as command line version, and then as GUI version.
However, many software companies are not aware of this rule, and write only GUI applications, which can be not at all, or very hard and inefficiently automated.
