I recently found a really sweet video that contains some good tips on making games. 2D Boy (guys behind World of Goo) posted this video few months ago in their blog. In case you haven’t checked it out yet, I recommend you do that now (or bookmark the video for later watching). Some really good stuff packed in 7 and a half minutes video.

Don't miss the good stuff

I seriously need to update my layout :)

This was good advice when we were at the Global Game Jam.

But unfortunately it wasnt´t very easy to follow every point, specially the “adjust your expectative” and “don´t fall in love” ones, these seems very clear when planning and get very tricky when in development.

I encourage everybody to take part in events like this whether your are profesional or amateur. It´s pefect to live a complete cycle and to experiment production methodologies (like some form of mutilated scrum we used).

Too bad 90% of the events happen like other end of the world (and not here in Finland), although I also agree that attending to events like this is a really good idea: you can make contacts and get perspective on game making. Perspective you don’t find just staring at your computer screen… :)
