Wild guesses are so much more fun.

That “shitty for top names” is actually pretty easy logic:
- those top affiliates who have got customers under their wings no longer benefit from those customers if they buy stuff. Meaning… top affiliates will lose money… which equals to “shitty” in my books.

Why don’t you gather some facts before you base things on ‘Just making a wild guess’?

Seems pretty crappy to classify the changes as ‘shitty’ when you clearly haven’t done the appropriate due diligence. I’m not trying to take sides here. I’m just saying, learn to research.

Regarding the format of links, Big Fish Games have provided the following information within the affiliate area: “While Big Fish Games has rewrite rules in place to allow the old ?afcode=[afcode] parameters work on its game download sites, URLs directly to the store (Buy URLs copied and pasted from the type=4 XML, for example) need to be updated so that tracking is not lost.” So it seems as though there may be issues for affiliates who use the direct buy links. Like you though, I am quite pleased that they are providing better resources to track salesas this is something that I have thought would be quite beneficial for some time. Wonder how many of my previous customers I will be able to keep though…

Even if other affiliates have referred the same consumer you are referring, if you are the last person to refer the consumer and they buy a game within 90 days, they become your referral and you will earn commissions from all their game purchases for a full year.

After which they belong to BFG *only* and *nobody* gets affiliate credit for them and nobody can steal them.

Also, at any time BFG chooses, they can decide to not pay you. No matter how much you might have owed to you, no matter whether you did anything wrong or not, they can simply take your money.

You sure you like those changes?
