Medieval, medieval+fantasy (magic) for me. Maybe some sort of postapocalypse, that can be very interesting, but also somewhat depressing for some people.

Cyberpunk and Science Fiction, hands down!

I like “Van Helsing” (the movie) its gothic/medieval style. It combines beauty, darkness, magic, technology and mysticism.
Also the “The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen” its alternative science has its special charm.
