I don't play many games that are strictly coop. Mostly I prefer games that have a good to better single player mode, and then look for coop online play. I think the one exception would be CoD WaW. The coop zombie maps are the only part of that game that I have played much of. I played through the single player campaign only to unlock the Nazi zombie maps. There is some strategy to playing that coop, but it still a point and shoot over and over.

I used to play World of Warcraft, but I lost interest as there isn't much you can do solo at higher levels, and it was difficult to find a good group. If you didn't have a good group, you wouldn't last long.

I'd say that if the game needs a fairly constant communication between players in order to succeed (try playing L4D on expert with people without Mics, you won't do very well most of the time.)

You must still remember balance batween solo and coop play. If you cripple players/classes too much and force team play with unrealiable, griefing or new players you get very annoying game.
