And full-resolution recording is now a paid feature =( Like Virious said, CamStudio is good, but I've had instances where it decided not to save the video at the end (usually with long recordings.) I tend to be pretty uptight about spending cash on dev software if I don't have to, but Fraps has been an amazing bargain. It's not perfect but it's simple, do it's job fine, free and keep my blood pressure at a reasonable level.
