Camtasia Studio is perfect for desktop recording (e.g. creating video tutorials) http://www.techsmith.com/camtasia.asp

It also has very nice editing features.

Good to hear about WeGame (not sure if I had seen that earlier - or at least I didn't remember it right now).

Will go for CamStudio.

Thanks everybody.

WeGame is like fraps, it won't record the screens. And full-resolution recording is now a paid feature =( Like Virious said, CamStudio is good, but I've had instances where it decided not to save the video at the end (usually with long recordings.)

I've tried CamStudio (http://camstudio.org/). Open source, easy to use, and you can record even MS-DOS fullscreen games etc. :).

I use Fraps, which does pretty much everything that I need to. I tend to be pretty uptight about spending cash on dev software if I don't have to, but Fraps has been an amazing bargain.

I use it as an FPS counter in the game, and capture screenshots and movies with it.

http://www.wegame.com has a good one, you don´t have to submit the video to wegame even if the program makes it easy. Nice performance and quality.

I've tried many and been frustrated by many (to be fair it's more my lack of patience with this stuff that should be blamed) and I always come back to CamStudio (http://camstudio.org/).

It's not perfect but it's simple, do it's job fine, free and keep my blood pressure at a reasonable level.
