Skipping IGF

My own game isn’t in such shape that I could possibly submit it to IGF, thus I’m skipping IGF this year – which is a bit shame since that’s where I aimed. I can see that there’s no point, since right now my game is not really playable (the next step for me is to work on the “units” of the game so that I can have challenges & skills and stuff sorted out).

Are you submitting? Deadline is tomorrow.

This is my first submission for IGF, and I submitted 2 games. But the chance of nomination is so slim since the standard getting much higher every year… makes me wonder if I should not have submitted if we somewhat knew that the game probably wouldn’t make it into the nomination list.

I felt tempted for a moment because the submission could have helped our newly released game get noticed, but that’s about it. Snakes of Avalon is freeware, relatively unknown, and we don’t have any money to spare.

However, if Snakes will continue to get good comments and reviews we might submit it the next year, and with a bit of luck I’ll have another project finished by that time too.
